Springtime in Lofoten
It is springtime in Lofoten and the long days offer an endless amount of experiences and activities!
The long days arrive to Lofoten already in April and continue to grow longer and longer until the sun does not set at all in the end of May. We then have midnightsun until mid July when the sun is starting to set below the horizon. With the long days come plenty of oppurtunities to explore, just relax in the daylight or fill your day with fun activities! To see different activities in the area, please press here.
The weather can be a bit unpredictable in the spring so make sure to bring rain gear and warm clothes ever if it is sunny when you start your day. It is always good to be prepared since the weather change very fast and vary alot inbetween the different fjords around Lofoten. During the spring months is also when you have the highest opportunity to see the Killer Whales (Orcas). They often swim up and down the coast and sometimes they even swim into Reinefjorden to have a feast on herring. Although it is possible to see them during most of the year, the spring tends to be the best time to spot them.
When you have a sunny day in May, the mountains still covered in snow, not even a slight breeze on the water, it is hard to grasp the fact that you are standing in a fairy tale world.
We here at Reinefjorden Sjøhus LOVES flowers and are constantly working on our garden to make it look its best for our guests. In the fall of 2019 we dug down lots of flower bulbs, and when the spring of 2020 came it was a beautiful explosion of colours in our flowerbeds! The garden is a working progress and we have big plans for the future <3
